Tano-kami-sama (deity of harvest) – Visiting the house hosting the deity

A couple of invisible deities visit a paddy field from nearby mountains after rice is harvested (all crops are harvested in the field) and stay there during the winter time. The owner of the parry field goes to the field to take (pick up) the couple to bring them back home to express his and his family’s gratitude for the harvest of the year. The deities are welcomed and served a big feast after taking a bath in a house on December 5 and stay in the house over the winter for two month. They go back to the field (and then, mountains) after being served a sending-off feast on February 9.

We visited the owner to see how the couple of deity are doing at his house in the end of January 2023.
